THE WORLD RECORD BASS

George W. Perry established a world record that has stood the test of time for over seventy years. He caught a twenty two pound five ounce largemouth bass on Lake Montgomery in Helena, Georgia back on June 2, 1932.

The monster was caught on a Creek Chub Perch Scale Wigglefish. It measured 32 1/2 inches long and was 28 1/2 inches in girth.

This longstanding record is one of the reasons that Georgia chose the largemouth bass as it's official state fish.

George Perry was twenty years old when he caught the record.
